Cortina is often referred to as "The pearl of the Dolomites"

It is a cosmopolitan town with a long history of being the place to be seen when holidaying in the Dolomites. Cortina hosted the 1956 Winter Olympics and is still the venue for a number for World cup bob and ski events. There is much to do on and off the slopes. Cortina is also a summer haven with it's cool dry climate to relax ,walk, hike or climb. Cortina being a larger town has more of a sophisticated feel than the village resorts of Campitello and Canazei. Overall eating out, shopping etc is more extensive and expensive.
